Biography
Marco Marcelletti (b. August 7, 1999, Penne, Italy) is an Italian jazz pianist, composer, and educator based in Brussels, active across the Belgian and Italian jazz scenes.
He began studying piano at the age of ten with Angelo Trabucco at the Scuola Civica Musicale of San Giovanni Teatino. At sixteen, while still attending high school, he was exceptionally admitted to the Bachelor’s program at the Conservatorio “L. D’Annunzio” in Pescara, where he studied with Carlo Morena and Luca Mannutza, graduating with highest honors.
His artistic development was further shaped through studies with Ramberto Ciammarughi and classical pianist Marco Fumo, as well as participation in internationally recognized programs including the Berklee Summer School at Umbria Jazz Clinics, Nuoro Jazz, and Atri Music Camp.
In 2019, Marco joined the Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles through the Erasmus+ programme, studying with Eric Legnini. He subsequently completed a Master’s degree in Jazz Piano at the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel under Diederik Wissels, Stéphane Galland, and Katleen Sedeyn, graduating with great distinction. He then earned a Specialized Master’s degree at the Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles, where his research focused on the music of Wayne Shorter, followed by a Master’s degree in Music Pedagogy in 2026.
Throughout his career, Marco has attended masterclasses and received mentorship from internationally renowned artists including Kenny Barron, Bill Frisell, Chris Potter, Wynton Marsalis, Kenny Werner, Peter Bernstein, Benny Golson, Sullivan Fortner, Aaron Parks, Eric Legnini, Claudio Filippini, and Enrico Pieranunzi.
He has performed with musicians such as Peter Hertmans, Fabrice Alleman, Maurizio Giammarco, Eliott Knuets and Stéphane Chausse, appearing at festivals including Brussels Jazz Weekend, Klarafestival, JazzAscona, Tolentino Jazz, SanGiò Jazz, Teate Winter Festival, and Nuoro Jazz.
As a recording artist, Marco appears on Spellbound (2025) with the Attilio Sepe Quartet and Where Gold Breaks (2026) with the Attilio Sepe Group, both released by WOW Records.
Alongside his activity as a performer, Marco is also an active educator and collaborates with a wide range of ensembles across Europe. As a composer and bandleader, he continues to develop original projects that bridge the jazz tradition with contemporary influences, cultivating a musical language distinguished by lyricism, spontaneity, and a deep commitment to research and improvisation.
